I'll miss you PAX.

What a blast PAX was this year. Saw so many cool games and talked to so many amazing people. Even found an old friend from over a decade ago that I never thought I'd see again.

But alas, it is over now. Time to get back to finishing up school. Take all those tips I gathered up and start making some more models and textures.

New Site Layout

Well, I've gone and done it. Did a whole revamp of my site. Using a modified version of the Flont template, but it still needs much more work.

I removed the Photos section, but I'll be uploading them all to deviantArt in the near future. Some are already there, but it'll take a while to get them all up so please be patient.

Abscission of Light

Well, my team class is almost done. We are so close to finishing the game. Everything is falling into place now and the game is really looking good. Our programmer Dino Suvalic really out did himself and created over 50 custom script file and even make himself some custom Kismet node. Amazing!

Julianne Torielli was her usually busy self, but she managed to get a great looking character done and put together some kick ass documentation in the form of a game manual. ;) This is her design for the box art.

Pretty snazzy eh. She even turned it into an icon for us.

Daniel Nix kept delivering some awesome art for us and took on the role of Sound Designer in the end. Made Damion "Goldize" Poitier's voice-over recording sound really mystical. And speaking of Damion, I have to give a big thank you to him for even taking the time to record his voice for me. It really make the game that much more epic.

UDK Team Project - Star Seers

New class is under way. About 3 weeks in and I'm loving my team. Everyone just seemed to fall into their roles fairly easily. I ended up taking the lead and signing up to be the Producer so to speak. I'm also modeling, skinning and texturing. One thing that I'm also excited about is learning how to make particles in UDK with Cascade.

Got a great concept artist on our team, Daniel Nix. http://www.senphion.com/

Currently modeling a minotaur for our Boss Battle. Really crossing my finger that we can get him all animated and working in game.

Pics on the way.

Health Bar Concept

Thought I had posted this earlier, but I guess I forgot. Made this for part for my Mountain Man Dan game as a potential health meter. The Vines would grow as you progress and wither as you loose health. Not sure I like how the ammo counter turned out, but I really like the mushroom and vines.

Candy Royale

One more class down, Advanced Gamed Prototyping. It was a ton of fun. The student were split up into teams and we each took on a role. My team, Team Awesome, consisted of Scott Severance, Julianne Torielli, Erin Tanner, and myself. Scott was the Production Lead, Julie the Design Lead, and Erin was the Art Lead. I served as the Tech Lead, which meant I did about 90% of the programming. I used Gary Rosenzweig's code for the Platform game on flashgameu.com as a base to get me started.

Please note that this is not a full fledged game, it is a Prototype. Proof of concept if you will. None the less, it is still fun to play.

The music comes from ABSRDST on Chipmusic.org and the name of the song is Mystery Masterson and the Golden Key.

Click the image to open the game in a new window. Ideal size is 1080 x 720 px, so you may have to resize the window until I figure out how to automate the process.

Edit: You can go here to play the game now.  Flash Games
